Toward Independence and Competitiveness of Japan's Satellite System Development

Through our domestic and international networks, ASTEC conducts extensive research and analysis of the latest trends in satellite system-related technologies and services that make use of these technologies.
The results of our research and analysis will be used to ensure Japan's independence in satellite system development and to strengthen its international competitiveness.

Message

Advanced Satellite Systems Technology Center (ASTEC) was established in April 2021 as an organization dedicated to identifying and analyzing the latest trends in technology, markets, and policies for satellite development and satellite applications in Japan and abroad.
By analyzing the information acquired through our domestic and international networks and making policy proposals, the Foundation will contribute to the promotion of Japan's strategic satellite development and demonstration, which in turn will help ensure Japan's independence in the development, manufacture, and operation of satellite systems and equipment and strengthen our international competitiveness.
The necessity and importance of space development and utilization are becoming higher and higher, and the required technologies are becoming more diverse and complex. As a result, we are entering an era in which the formulation of technology development strategies requires a broad perspective, a high level of expertise, and empirical knowledge. ASTEC strive to be an organization that supports the technology development strategies of Japan through continuous repetition of research, analysis, and strategic planning.
